XC RACING SPECIALIST SALOMON NORWAY
We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and structured cross-country Racing Specialist for
SALOMON in Norway. This position will be the face of the
SALOMON brand in the cross-country community and will be responsible for a significant increase of total number and overall performance/quality of junior athletes racing for
SALOMON in Norway.
XC Racing Specialist will be responsible for building, planning, managing and leading the local junior racing program in Norway and recruit athletes and ambassadors to
SALOMON. The position will be present out in the field and community, and always work pro-active to recruit the talents with most potential with a long-term perspective.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define, order and select athlete’s equipment with clear specifications and timing.
- Increase number and performance / quality level of athletes using Salomon in the racing community.
- Build, plan and manage the local junior racing program in Norway.
- Close exchange and collaboration with Salomon HQ Racing International and S/LAB Select Team.
- Coordinate the ambassadors and athlete’s community all year round (pro-active communication)
- Be the face of the Brand towards athletes, clubs, parents and all key stakeholders in the XC Community.
- Communication follow up athletes in terms of product planning and seeding.
- Negotiate partnerships with local XC clubs together with ASM.
- Coordinate the community of brand ambassadors to implement consumer facing events program and being on-site if required during “best” events
- Create, activate and grow sports advocates community
- Coordinate incremental social media / viral activation (in coordination with marketing manager/IMME) through ambassadors/athlete network
- Be an active part of the Influencer Marketing Management / Ambassador community, sharing and using best practices
- Ensure feedback on the quality of the toolbox delivered by brand and used by athletes/ambassadors and the implementation of it.
- Ensure cooperation with Area Sales Managers, support customers with event material and onsite support by the community/AMB network.
- Manage A&P budgets with guidance from brand
KEY MISSION AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for developing the influencer activation plan to accelerate sell-thru and implement brand strategies by coordinating a team of external brand ambassadors. Build a local junior racing program from scratch in Norway. Increase brand awareness in the racing community and increase our market share and visibility in the racing community. Be present at the key events during the season. Make sure to activate athletes and ambassadors on social media and build brand awareness at this touchpoint.
YOUR PROFILE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Planning skills
- Outstanding product knowledge related to XC
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbally)
- Excellent relationships skills (behaviour, availability)
- Being able to handle many tasks at the same time
- Enjoy spending time in the community, this role requires great passion for the sport and community.
- Excellent skill level on XC (skate-classic)
- Deep market insight
- Understanding of the XC community
- Understanding of “how social media” works and ability to manage and coordinate social media activities.
- Service and open-minded
- Team spirit and proactive work attitude
- Good knowledge of MS Office and usage of CRM systems.
- Fluent in Norwegian and English
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness for weekend work and travel
NEEDED WORK EXPERIENCE
- 4 years of experience in the spesific XC sports community or in a similar role.
- Experience in sports industry - specifically in ski industry is a clear plus

The position will be located at our new head office, Snø Lørenskog. Travelling days during the year will be 50-80 days , including some weekends.
